02 / THE PERSON BEHIND THE MUSIC
Since 1995, Ida Lee has been the name behind my own songs. A project that changes with me, carrying its history along the way.
Over the years, different musicians have joined me along the way. Together we have brought my songs to the stage and into the studio. These encounters are part of my work.
Today I am working on new versions of my compositions, also exploring the possibilities of AI in music production. My songs and their stories remain the starting point.

From the first CD and shared stages to today’s productions. A look back.

THE FIRST CD / 1997
Five songs. A beginning that still resonates today. The booklet connects the music with reflections on life, compassion and how much of our destiny we can shape ourselves.

“Every single moment of life is unique and will never return.”
From the notes for “Livin’ for the Day”, 1997. Translated from German.
A project of my own, bringing my compositions to life in different styles and line-ups.
“Livin’” takes shape with Thomas Nasswetter. Bernd Hepberger records the guitar parts for every song once its arrangement is complete.
Piano, flute, viola and djembe broaden the sound. The programme for Lochau in 2010 includes “On the Road” and “I’ve Been Told”.
New productions, new possibilities. And songs that have grown with me over the years.
And many others who remain unnamed, but never forgotten.
